Pamela Nelson Smith

Oil painter. Norcross, GA.

“In 2007 I began teaching art classes. Pam was one of my very first students. Now, just a few years later, she is teaching me. She has a tenacious ability for making every little detail perfect while painting with great passion. Because she has the skill to capture the personality and uniqueness of each subject she paints, she is fast becoming a sought after portrait artist.” — Larry Smith

Pam has always loved painting. She was the one who encouraged her husband Larry to begin painting again, after a thirty year career in advertising. She surprised him with a large easel, brushes, paints and canvases one Christmas morning. Pam has always had a great eye for color and composition. For years she helped her husband Larry see “what area needed help” in the paintings he was working on. She soon disovered that she had a “gift” and a desire to paint herself.

Her work is beginning to receive a lot of attention. She is constantly receiving calls from people wanting a portrait of a loved one, their family or the family pet. Pam has been juried into some of the top art shows in the country and she has received awards for her creativity. She is a member of the Atlanta Portrait Society. Together with her husband Larry, they teach art lessons to those who want to experience the joy of painting. She and Larry are the owners of 2 Smith Art Gallery in Historic Duluth Georgia.
